  • NEW FALL CLASSES beginning in September! I've added Sculpting Skills Classes on Mondays! In all ArtMix and Paint the Masters classes we are continuing our study of Neo-Impressionism, and we will be exploring the works of many of these master artists- Seurat, Signac, Cross, Metzinger, Camille and Lucien Pissarro, Dubois-Pillet, and Luce.

  • Class Descriptions are listed at the bottom of this page for more detailed info about each type of class. But here's a Quick Overview: "Mix" classes alternate between painting, drawing and 3D + art history. "Masters" classes focus on technique by recreating master works in acrylic. "Skills" classes focus on the elements of art/principles of design in one method of creating (Sketching/Painting/Sculpting).  "Start" or "JR" classes are for beginners. "QuickDraw" is step-by-step drawing practice. All classes are scheduled in monthly increments, unless designated as "Drop-In."

MONDAYS
  • Allison's Art Administrative and Personal Studio Time. Studio is open by appointment for meet-ups.  
  • ​Sketching Skills for 7-16 y/o from 2:00-3:00p ($125/month), up to 6 students. ​
  • 2-hr Bi-monthly Sculpting Skills for 7-17 y/o from 3:30-5:30p, ($125/month). A-Block on 1st and 3rd weeks for Elementary students; B-Block on 2nd & 4th weeks for Preteens & Teens.
​TUESDAYS 
  • NOW VIRTUAL ONLY! ArtSTART for 3.5-6 y/o + a parent, 10a-10:45a.  ($100/month), only 6 students. A parent/guardian must be present online. 
  • VIRTUAL ArtMIX for 7-16 y/o from 11:15a-12:15p ($100/month). See "virtual" section below for supply list links.
  • VIRTUAL ELEMENTARY Paint the Masters for 7-12 y/o from 1:30p-2:30p, ($100/month)
  • VIRTUAL TEEN Paint the Masters for 13-17 y/o from 3:00p-4:00p, ($100/month)

  • 2-hr Bi-Monthly ArtMIX for 6-12 y/o from 10a-12p ($125/month), up to 6 students. BLOCK A meets on 1st & 3rd weeks, BLOCK B meets on 2nd & 4th weeks.
  • Afterschool ArtMIX  for 7-14 y/o from 4:30p-5:30p, Only 6 students ($125/month)
THURSDAYS 
  • 2-hr ​Bi-monthly TEEN Paint the Masters for 12-17 y/o from 10a-12p ($125/month), up to 6 students. BLOCK A meets on 1st & 3rd weeks, BLOCK B meets on 2nd & 4th weeks. Sign up for both blocks if you work at a slow pace and want even more time to complete your masterpiece! 
FRIDAYS 
  • ArtSTART for 3.5-6 y/o + a parent, 10a-10:45a,  ($100/month). A parent is required to stay and participate with children under 5. 
  • ArtMIX  for 7-12 y/o from 11a-12p, Only 6 students ($125/month)
  • VIRTUAL QuickDraw for 6-16 y/o from 1p-1:45p ($100/month)
  • Bible QuickDraw for 7-16 y/o from 2p-3p ($125/month)

Payment Options for Ongoing Monthly Group Classes:
  • I am a Direct Pay Provider through Florida's Step Up for Students Scholarship so you can find me in the Marketplace and transfer funds directly if you have the scholarship! 
  • If you are paying by other means, I prefer CHECK  or ZELLE since there are no transaction fees, however I do take Venmo, PayPal & Credit Cards if necessary. 
  • If you miss a class due to sickness or an extenuating circumstance, you will be credited the class hour(s), but you must make up that class time in either a Drop-in class or Makeup Day. NO CASH REFUNDS are allowed through the Step Up for Students Program (SUFS).  
  • If you are delayed in receiving a SUFS disbursement, please contact me. I may be able to carry you until the end of the month, but will require some form of payment after 6 weeks.

NEW VIRTUAL CLASSES:
  • Virtual QuickDraw: The class will be conducted on Zoom. Students will need to have drawing materials available and set up in their own dedicated, disturbance-free workspace prior to class. Allison will walk students through a simple drawing step-by-step in 30 minutes and then students will have 15 minutes afterward to ask questions, show their work and finish out their drawings in color media. Students will provide their own materials: Mixed Media sketchbook, cardstock, drawing paper, or digital drawing software on an ipad, graphite pencils, erasers, markers, watercolor pencils or watercolors, brushes, cup of water, paper towels.   • Virtual ArtMix: This is a mixed media class so it requires a variety of materials. The class will be conducted on Zoom. Students will need to have art supplies available and set up in their own dedicated, disturbance-free workspace prior to class time. I will send out a class schedule by email so you can know what is needed each day. There is a suggested materials list that needs to be purchased by the 2nd class of each month (the first class will always be a simpler drawing class to accommodate). Many of the supplies can be purchased locally with various brands, however it is helpful for your student to have the same 6 paint brushes that I will be using (~$20). The full online Dick Blick ArtMix Supply List is around $175 and should last for many classes. 
  • Virtual Paint the Masters: The class will be conducted on Zoom. Students will need to have art supplies available and set up in their own dedicated, disturbance-free workspace prior to class-time. It is helpful to have the same 6 main paintbrushes that Allison uses. Paints can vary but it is helpful if we all use the same brand. Colors recommended: Block-out White, Mars Black, Bright Red, Chrome Orange, Deep Yellow, Chrome Yellow, Phthalo Green, Phthalo Blue, Fluorescent Blue, Ultramarine Blue; Fluorescent Pink, Venetian Red, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber. In addition these supplies, students will need pencils & eraser, a cup of water, paper towels, & styro-foam plates or a palette. The following Paint the Masters Supply List is recommended (~$75 - $190).
All Paint the Masters classes will be exploring works in the Neo-Impressionist style by a variety of master artists including Seurat, Signac, Cross, Metzinger, Camille and Lucien Pissarro, Dubois-Pillet, and Luce.
  • Virtual Elementary Paint the Masters on Tuesdays at 1:30pm will create simpler works.
  • Virtual Teen Paint the Masters on Tuesdays at 3pm will create pieces that are hand drawn & painted.
  • 2-hr Bi-monthly Teen Paint the Masters on Thursdays at 10am offers a slower-paced class to allow students time to paint without stress! You can sign up for both blocks if you want to have even more time to work on your painting!
OPEN SCHEDULE SPOTS:
I have open spots in my schedule to create other classes. If you can get at least 2 other students to join you, the spot can be yours for any type of class that you'd like for $125/person/month. 
Art Class Descriptions
Most Classes are $25/hour + a $25 monthly supplies/materials use/studio fee.* Read below for a brief description of each class. 
  • ArtStart (for 3.5-6 y/o + a parent) is a beginner introduction to art. Young students will experiment with different drawing, painting & sculpting media learning how to make marks on paper, draw & paint simple designs, and even make some 3D objects.
  • ArtMIX for children ages 7-15 is a multi-media art class exploring a variety of painting, drawing, & 3D media as we study Master Artists and Themes.
  • ​Painting Skills for 7-15 y/o (or younger with parental involvement) is a beginner painting class for elementary students to learn about different paint mediums, techniques, and color mixing while creating beautiful artworks.
  • ​Paint the Masters for 7-17 y/o allows students to study a different Master artist's style and technique every month. Students learn valuable skills while attempting to recreate Master works. 
  • BLANK CANVAS for pre-teens and teens allow students to come with their own original ideas and Mrs. Allison will help them to bring them to life! Students will complete one original work over 2-4 weeks' time (or more time if needed).
  • ​Sketching Skills for 7-16 y/o is a fundamental drawing class that teaches students about line, shape, texture, composition, perspective, depth, and shading through various techniques, using primarily graphite, gel crayons, markers, oil pastels and color pencils. 
  • Sketch the Masters for preteens and teens allows students to study the works of Master artists and to learn how to recreate their designs. This class teaches students about proportions, perspective, depth, shading, texture, value, design, composition, and more. Students will draw larger pieces in a variety of drawing media. 
  • Sculpting Skills for 8-15 y/o is a beginner 3D class that teaches students about form using clay, paper mâché, Model Magic, plaster, wire & cardboard. 
  • CREATIVE SPARK for 7-15 y/o is a class that stretches creativity and originality. During class each student will draw one card from 6 decks of “prompts” – Color Schemes, Subject Matter, Art Media/Tools, Traits, Shape, Styles/Art Genres – then original artworks will be created based on the prompts. 
  • Quick-Draw classes are like "drawing practice" and are for students 7 years old & up (or younger with parental involvement). They are taught with step-by-step instruction for the first 30 minutes, then students are given the remaining time to finish their drawings in markers or watercolor media.  Students will learn how to draw various subject matter using a variety of techniques. Sign up for monthly Quickdraw classes and get a free Mixed-Media sketchbook, or just do Drop-in classes when it fits your schedule. 
  • Bible QuickDraw for 7-16 y/o is a step-by-step drawing tutorial class where students will study a Bible Verse that correlates to the drawing, hear a short devotional, and share faith. Drawings will be finished in watercolor and the class will conclude in a short prayer. [In addition to my BFA, I also hold an MDiv degree and I have been a youth & children's director for over 20 years. Bible Verses will come from these translations - NLT, NIV, BSB or ESV]. 

*Just a note about the price: Please remember that for each in-class hour, multiple hours are logged outside of class for prep work, travel time, buying supplies, cleaning of supplies, research, & marketing. Also the studio requires special liability insurance and home owners insurance due to working with children.  Art supplies alone are over 25% of the class cost. You are getting a great value for the price!
